I forgot to tell you guys!!!

I went NO POO!!! This is day 4 (its only the beginning!)

this means that I DO NOT USE SHAMPOO!

this is my 2nd trial. I hope to end it for good this time.

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT ME! It's hard to deal with greasy hair for a while!!!

At least its almost beanie/hat season!

And for those of you who don't understand why anyone would give up shampoo, i think of it this way:

1. We are the only ones in nature who use shampoo (no other animal uses cleaning products!)

2. There are TONS of chemicals in shampoos - i can only imagine what they are doing when I rub them into my scalp!

3. Shampoo strips our hair of it's natural oils

heres a good article i saw online: http://www.naturemoms.com/no-shampoo-alternative.html

Well I'm clueless here. Can you use like apple vinegar as a natural cleanser? What about natural flax soap products? I'm sure someone out there knows what you could use as a safe alternative. Otherwise, best of luck in beanie land for the next few months.

I just took a shower using baking soda... and apple cider vinegar.

weird... i will let you know what my hair is like when it dries.

I might stick with just massaging my scalp with water, like in Nature.

Apparently the greasiness only lasts for 6 weeks... and its not all the time, its only sometimes.

My hair doesnt look greasy at all. I dont know what to expect though.

and as far as the other comment you posted, sure, you can upload the jump pic.

Hey Ash
There's a really good post on a thread on RawFu here:

I stopped the shampoo quite a while ago. It took about 2 months for my hair to normalize. It's different for everyone I think.

I used Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle when I just couldn't stand the oilies anymore. It's all natural and doesn't sud at all. I keep it on hand just for bad hair days.

I just washed with water everyday and scrubbed my scalp good. Sometimes I would brush in the shower and/or use a washcloth on my hair during transition. There are other ideas in the thread.

Good Luck. I think it's worth it.

You'll be so glad you went no 'poo when the transition period ends. I absolutely love the freedom. My hair and scalp are much better than ever before :)

You should try coconut oil, JASON Organic or Avalon Organics products. They all work extremely well. My favorite is this JASON shampoo with 86% Aloe Vera. It works excellently and has no chemicals at all. It's all natural extracts. You might also be interested in this brand called Alba. Let me know if you get into any of the above. I'd love to hear what you think - a.shah811@gmail.com.

Be well,
